1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading and using Ambrosia PoS, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the software.

2. License

Ambrosia PoS is licensed under the MIT License. This means:

  • ✓ You can use it for free, forever
  • ✓ You can modify it for your own needs
  • ✓ You can redistribute it (with attribution)
  • ✓ You can use it commercially

3. No Warranty

Ambrosia PoS is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee:

  • That it will work perfectly 100% of the time
  • That it's suitable for your specific business needs
  • That it will be bug-free or uninterrupted

Translation: Use at your own risk. We built it with care, but software is never perfect.

4. Your Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • ✓ Backing up your phoenixd seed phrase
  • ✓ Securing your device and admin credentials
  • ✓ Complying with your local laws regarding Bitcoin
  • ✓ Your own accounting and tax reporting

We are NOT responsible for:

  • ✗ Lost funds due to user error or device failure
  • ✗ Legal compliance in your jurisdiction
  • ✗ Business losses or downtime

5. No Data Collection

We don't collect your data because we can't—everything runs locally on your device.

6. Self-Custody = Self-Responsibility

Ambrosia is self-custodial, which means:

  • You control your private keys (good!)
  • We cannot recover lost keys (your responsibility)
  • We cannot reverse transactions (Bitcoin is final)

Write down your seed phrase and store it safely. If you lose your seed phrase and device, your funds are gone.

7. Open Source Contributions

If you contribute code to Ambrosia via pull requests, you agree to license your contributions under the MIT License.

8. No Guarantees on phoenixd

Ambrosia integrates phoenixd by ACINQ. We don't control phoenixd's development or behavior. Any issues with phoenixd should be reported to ACINQ.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we (the Ambrosia PoS developers) are not liable for:

  • Lost Bitcoin or funds
  • Business interruptions
  • Data loss
  • Any damages arising from use of the software

Translation: If something goes wrong, we can't be sued. This is open source software provided for free.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.

11. Termination

You can stop using Ambrosia anytime by uninstalling it. We can't "terminate" you because we don't have accounts or control over your installation.
